Originally I got bad SWR and reception, but I fixed the antenna and got 1:1.2 across all channels. That, I did not expect.The CB also calibrates well to your antenna. Eventually I'll mount it differently than I do now for better reception. This CB has been considered one of the best for years, and rightfully so. When you get a strong signal, the speaker is loud at full and clear through the volume range.

In my opinion it is better than others I have had that were much more expensive. I am very pleased with this CB.

I have owned plenty of CBs in the past 30 years including some top-end AM/sideband CBs as well as a few export radios, and as far as a straight AM 40 channel CBs, this is one that really shines above the others. And these circuits actually eliminate static and engine-generated noise.unlike some other radios. There are a lot of CB radios out there and the Cobra 29 LTD Classic has stood the test of time. The most impressive features in this radio are its sensitivity in receiving, even while the Noise-Blanker and/or Automatic Noise Limmiter circuits are engaged. Overall, the 29LTD Classic is perhaps the best inexpensive AM CB out there. It comes with the traditional chrome detailed brushed aluminum faceplate that really shows off this radio. But the true quality is in the radio itself.
